Engr. Eusuf Shobuj Begh who is working for INAGROSA, Madrid, Spain, talked in a seminar on "Conversion of Press-mud into Super Organic Fertilizer Using RPG Kit" on August 02, 2009. Mr. AHM Delwar Hossain, Ex-Director General of BSRI presided over the seminar. Dr MA Samad Miah, DG BSRI; Dr. Md. Sharifur Rahman, Ex-Director (research), BSRI; Dr. Md. Korban Ali, Director (Research), Research Initiative, Bangladesh; Mr. Soliaman Miah of BSFIC; Scientists of BSRI and Managers (Seed Inspection and Agronomy) of Sugar mills participated the seminar.

BSRI Annual Research Program Review Workshop (Internal) was held on 27-29 July 2009.

 

BSRI Signed a Memorandum of Agreement with CIMMYT

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between Bangladesh Sugarcane Research Institute (BSRI) and The Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia (CSISA)  acting for the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre (CIMMYT) was signed on July 02, 2009 concerning scientific and technical collaboration on cereal and sugarcane based farming systems research and development. Dr. M A Samad Miah, Director General of BSRI and Dr. Raj K. Gupta, Regional Coordinator (DACST) of CSISA & CIMMYT Representative for India and Bangladesh signed the MOA on behalf of their respective organizations. Dr. M A Hamid Miah, Ex-Vice chairman, BARC and Dr. J K Ladha was present as witness.

BSRI Research Extension Workshop was held on June 9-10, 2009 at Yasin Ali Training Building, BSRI campus, Ishurdi, Pabna.
