*BSRI Research-Extension Workshop was held on 28-29 May 2011. Secretary MOA Launched the event after a short speech deliberating to the gathering of Researchers and Extension people of BSRI and other organizations.

Recognition and Awards

BSRI has been honored with two awards for its outstanding contribution in technology development. The first award 'Gold Medal' was presented by Kazi Mahabubullah - Jebunnessa Kallyan Trust in 1991 for the development of STP technology having great potentiality to make a break-through in sugarcane cultivation in terms of both production and profitability. Two STP farmers have also been awarded 'President Gold Medal' for obtaining the highest yield of sugarcane. The second award 'Dr. Mostafizur Rahman Gold Medal' was presented by Bangladesh Zoological Society to the Entomology Division of BSRI for its outstanding contribution in research on Biological Control of sugarcane insect pest.

Besides these awards, BSRI exhibition-stalls received a good number of 'Best stall award' in the recent past. Some scientists have also received certificate/plaque of recognition/appreciation for the sincere works in their respective fields both at home and abroad.
