BSRI annual research review workshop 2011 was held on 10-11 October 2011. Mr. Shamsur Rahman Sharif, MP, Pabna-4 launched the event at BSRI campus*BSRI Research-Extension Workshop was held on 28-29 May 2011. Secretary MOA Launched the event after a short speech deliberating to the gathering of Researchers and Extension people of BSRI and other organizations.

Technology Transfer Activities

BSRI also performs some activities pertaining to transfer of technologies. It has training programmes for trainers from sugar mills, DAE and for advanced farmers; demonstration programme of matured technologies; programme for organizing field-days, farmers rally, seminar, workshop, group discussion and publications in the form of annual report, journal, leaflets, booklets etc. Scientists attend 'Agricultural Technical Committee (ATC)' meetings organized by DAE in different regions. The library is the excellent centre of sugarcane-related information in the country. BSRI scientists promptly visit any problem area and suggest remedies as and when required.

  • The institute has prepared :
    1. Six slide-serieses on "modern sugarcane production technologies".
    2. A manual on "Improved cane cultivation practices".
    3. A video film on "Transplanted Sugarcane" for SAARC countries.
  • A great success has been achieved in "Sugarcane based farming systems research and development".
